Although some congressmen of the Republicans voted against Bush and voted for the Democrates, the US president said NO with a veto to a law for expansions of the federal healthcare for Children (SCHIP).
To override it there must have been a two-thirds majority. The law would have meant that the healthcare extended in 5 years for currently six million protected children to ten million protected children. The programm would have cost 35 million US$ but Bush said: "This is way to expensive". The Democrats wanted to raise the money of the tobacco duty for 61 cents.
Roy Blunt said: "Bush still prefers to pay money for an illegal war as that he would do something for his own country and it's people."
